Ducks: In a Row

Soooo.... We are good to go. We've found a nice place to land - our own little oasis amid the chaos of an emerging economy. The airline tickets and visas have arrived, and we've planned our first big adventure within our Big Adventure - to Bali the last week in January. Almost all of us have been vaccinated for things like typhoid fever and Japanese encephalitis. We have filled the prescriptions for other various bowel-related ailments we may encounter. All that is left is an inventory of summer clothing and the addition of a few large suitcases.

Our house sitter is ready to move in and take control of the snow-shoveling and dog-walking.

It has been unseasonably cold here and we're all ready to leave early, despite the excitement of the holidays and the fun of friends and family.

Hi i'm silas

Hi I'm Silas the eldest boy in the family. I'm in 7th grade and am 12 years old. I'm pretty excited to go on this trip! I can't wait to see my new school and start the swim team there. I've been getting lots of questions from my friends and the most frequent ones have been "why are you going there?" or "When are you leaving?" It seems like I keep answering the same questions to the same people. But otherwise I'm pretty phyched to go to Vietnam.
